DRY BRUSHING 101!

1. Brush types and care: handheld brushes will give you more control and longer handles are better for mobility. Synthetic fibers are typically softer, so if you want a natural fiber be more gentle. Store in a cool/dry place, and clean it regularly with a 5 min soak in warm water with a few drops of tea tree oil.

2. When to brush: if your goal is exfoliation do it before a shower; if your goal is lymph flow, brush another time so the hot water doesn’t slow your lymphatic return.

3. How often: brush when you have time, but no more than 3x a week to protect your skin barrier.

4. When to avoid: if you have an infection, cancer, pain, skin issues, kidney/heart/circulatory dysfunction, or if you’re post-surgery make sure you ask your doc first.
